Knight of the Year
This year it is with great privilege to honor an outstanding person in Council 571.
Council 571 takes great strides to Honor one of their own as the Knight of the Year for his work, ethics and attitude. One of the greatest things we Honor is the person that not only gives of himself at Council 571 but gives back to his Community.
Two years ago he took on a position that always has a great potential to build a Council and further its growth. Between 2005 and 2007 he assisted the membership growth of 52 new Knights joining Council 571. This was a great asset in earning the Council the STAR COUNCIL AWARD for both the 2005-2006 and 2006-2007 years.
He has gone to great strides in working outside of the Council especially in his Parish, Our Lady of Guadalupe. He worked hand in hand with other members of the Grounds and Facilities members to build Our Lady’s Garden. He has spent many, many hours working with the Apple Harvest Festival and coordinated Council 571’s members in cooking the dinner for that event. In July of this year he finished serving a three year term on the Parish Council at Our Lady of Guadalupe. He also serves as an officer in the St. Joseph General Assembly Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus.
The 2007 Knight of the Year Award goes to a person we honor as a true and outstanding Knight of Council 571, William M. (Bill) Hurley.
