Ladies Auxiliary
The Ladies Auxiliary's main function is to SUPPORT the men and Council 571. They
do this primarily by providing help at events, cooking for events and providing
monetary help. They also generally do help with setting up and beautifying the
hall for events.
The Ladies Auxiliary of Council 571 main charity is the
Women's Abuse Center at our local YWCA. This is a safe haven for women and
their children in cases of domestic violence.
If you are interested in joining the Ladies Auxiliary of
Council 571, please feel free to contact any current officer or call and leave a message, or email the council with your name and
number, so we may call you back.

Ladies Auxiliary News
The October meeting was
held on October 17th
along with the other St. Joseph Councils and the Fourth Degree. A Rosary was
held in honor of the Patroness of the Americas, giving us an opportunity to pray
together during Mary’s month. We were happy to welcome Council and Fourth
Degree members from Council 5067, St. James, St. Francis and Cameron. Thanks to
Council 571 Ladies Auxiliary members for providing and serving refreshments:
Rita Chatfield, Sherri Curran, Rose Marie Jezak, Nancy Joe, Jean Mazur, Mary
Miller, Bonnie Orcutt and Lee Stock.
Please plan to attend our third annual
Hen Shoot to be held on Friday, November 18 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish
Hall. The festivities will begin at 7:00 PM. Many fun activities are being
planned. Bring your favorite snack or hors d’oeuvre to share and join us for an
evening of fun, games, drawings and prizes. We look forward to seeing you
there.
Many of you have returned
the money for the quilt raffle tickets. Thanks for your efforts. We will sell
them at the Council’s Oktoberfest on October 22 along with the Keep Christ in
Christmas magnets. By purchasing the chances and/or magnets, you are helping to
support our charitable activities. These are our major fundraisers this year.
Your efforts and contributions are greatly appreciated. The quilt drawing will
be held at the Adult Christmas Party on December 16th.
Mark your calendars for the
Council’s Memorial Mass to honor Knights and Auxiliary members who have passed
away during the past year. This will be held on November 10th
at the Council Hall. See the men’s bulletin for details.
Ladies, this is
your
Auxiliary. We want meetings to be fun and interesting for
you. We want to know
what we can do to make meetings better for you. We have some new ideas, but
we’d like to hear from you. Send your ideas to Ronna at shelton@suddenlink.net.
Our very best wishes to our
members celebrating birthdays in November: Alice Andresen, Rita Chatfield,
Virginia Clisbee, Peggy Ann Edwards, Pat Fitzmaurice, Rita Modlin, Margaret
Rice, Judy Smith and Catherine Welsh.
