Auxiliary
Ladies Auxiliary
The Ladies Auxiliary's main function is to SUPPORT the men and Council 571. They
do this primarily by providing help at events, cooking for events and providing
monetary help. They also generally do help with setting up and beautifying the
hall for events.
The Ladies Auxiliary of Council 571 main charity is the
Women's Abuse Center at our local YWCA. This is a safe haven for women and
their children in cases of domestic violence.

Ladies Auxiliary News
The hustle and bustle of the holiday season
is over. We hope that your Christmas was a blessed time and that the New Year
will be healthy and happy.
Our January meeting is
scheduled for Monday, January 18. Toni Hamera will talk to us about the
T.O.U.C.H. Program. Sarretta Jung and Virginia Thedinga will provide
refreshments. News of this meeting will be in the next newsletter.
A President’s Day Dinner will be held on
Monday, February 15 at the Council Hall. Social hour will begin at 6:00 with a
cash bar, and dinner will be served at 6:30. This will be a potluck dinner.
The Auxiliary will provide fried chicken and dessert, charging only $2.50 per
person to cover the cost of the chicken. Please bring a dish to share.
RESERVATIONS ARE NECESSARY so we know how much chicken to order. Reservations
must be made be made by Wednesday, February 11. Call Lee Stock, 279-, or
Rose Marie Jezak, 279-to make reservations.
The highlight of this activity will be our
program—Journey to Medjugorje, presented by Joyce and Leonard Amos. Joyce and
Leonard have visited many places where the Blessed Mother has appeared. Come
and hear about their experiences. This will take the place of our February
meeting.
Remember the SOS dinner at St. James on
Saturday, February 13. This activity supports our local seminarians. All money
donated goes directly to them for their expenses. Let’s support our
seminarians. Details can be found in the men’s section of the bulletin.
Our March meeting will be our Baby Shower
for Birthright. Also in March, we provide lunch for Habitat for Humanity
workers. Watch the next bulletin for details of these activities.
Thanks to those of you who have sent in
your dues for 2010. Your promptness is greatly appreciated. Remember, dues are
$10.00. Please make out your check to the Ladies Auxiliary and send it to Rose
Marie Jezak, 2410 Doniphan, St. Joseph, MO 64507.
